Trapped – The Zoo

It was the day we had been waiting for – a trip to the zoo – and we had upgraded our tickets to include the Meerkat Petting Experience. Even better, the zoo keeper left us in charge while they went to feed the other animals.

Unfortunately, as we were getting our camera ready to take loads of photos of us running the joint, the meerkats managed to escape!

Our mission was now to track down the missing meerkats and safely return them to their enclosure. Would we be able to get them all back safely, before the zoo keeper returned?

OK, so we were not really in charge of the zoo, just playing another of the Trapped! games. These escape rooms in a box allow you to turn your room into an escape room, so to speak.

The Trapped series of games contain a range of printed props, a “how to play” guide, and a code book that gives hints should you get stuck. Usually the only thing you need to add is something to make notes on.

These games can be played again as nothing is destroyed.

As with other Trapped! games, the zoo one was a non-linear series of puzzles. You can start anywhere and chose which meerkat to go for first.

The box says it is “Family Friendly”, but to be fair so do the other Trapped! titles. What we were not prepared for was this title being aimed at small children. We found the game incredibly easy. Too easy in fact, so we do not recommended it for puzzle enthusiasts or even families with big kids.

The only thing that took any time was the origami challenge.

We finished the whole thing in well under an hour, with a feeling of “is that it?”

Not for puzzle lovers, but OK for families with small children.
