Our story starts back in the 1980s, when we began writing and running murder mystery events. This was long before escape rooms existed and when immersive experiences meant a room full of people arguing about who poisoned the Colonel. From there we branched into puzzle trails and treasure hunts, eventually running Treasure Hunts in London, a dedicated treasure hunt business that took participants on puzzle-filled heritage adventures around the capital.
These days we explore rather than create. We love playing and reviewing escape rooms, trying new immersive experiences, and seeking out the best puzzle adventures the UK has to offer.
Along the way we wrote What Are We Going To Do Next? . This guide to social team building adventures helped us realise something interesting: not all puzzle lovers are the same.
Some of us are Investigators. These are the Miss Marples of the group, quietly observant, always three steps ahead, convinced they’ve spotted the killer before anyone else has read the first clue.
Some are Puzzle Solvers. The Einsteins. These are happiest when there’s a cipher to crack, a pattern to spot, or a logic puzzle standing between them and the next room.
And some are Adventurers. The Indiana Joneses are less bothered about the clues and more interested in the experience, the atmosphere, and whether there’s somewhere good to eat afterwards.
Most groups contain all three. We certainly do.
Here you’ll find honest reviews of escape rooms and immersive experiences, reports from events we’ve attended, and recommendations for mystery games and puzzle adventures worth trying. We play as a small, unhurried team of mature adults — so our reviews reflect what these experiences are genuinely like for real people, not speed runners.
