{"id":4788,"date":"2020-04-21T09:45:49","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T08:45:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/invitation2events.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4788"},"modified":"2020-04-21T09:45:49","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T08:45:49","slug":"valentines-mansion-gardens-and-online-mystery-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/invitation2events.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4788","title":{"rendered":"Valentines Mansion, Gardens and Online Mystery Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"CjVfdc CJIdie\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Valentine&#8217;s Mansion and Gardens<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Before lockdown City Adventurers were able to visit this gorgeous grade II* listed country house. <span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">\u00a0Built in around 1696, it was the home of Elizabeth Tillotson and her family, after the death of her husband, the Archbishop of Canterbury.<\/span><span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">Originally it stood\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">in open countryside,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">several miles from the edge of London. Now it is<\/span> nestled within historic gardens and the award-winning Valentines Park in <a href=\"https:\/\/visionrcl.org.uk\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Redbridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During the eighteenth century it was owned by City merchant and banker Robert Surman and later by Sir Charles Raymond. Sarah Ingleby was the last private resident of Valentines. She died in 1906 and the Council acquired the house in 1912. During lockdown, Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure have decided to make it available online. Donations to support the mansion in Redbridge are appreciated.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"CjVfdc\"><em>The Escape Game plot\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<div class=\"CjVfdc\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><em>Per DesignMyNight:\u00a0 There\u2019s a strange phenomenon taking place at Valentines Mansion\u2026 Julien Slade has invited you to help investigate, but is all as it seems? <\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"CjVfdc\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><em>There are ghostly lights and unusual supernatural goings-on, Slade tells you that something very strange is taking place; the spirits in the building are waking up.
